Navadurga Temples in India

                     Nava Durga Temples are very rare in India. Nava Durga means nine forms of the Goddess Durga Devi. They are 1. Shailaputri, 2. Bramhacharini, 3. Chandraganta,  4.Kushmanda, 5. Skandamata, 6.Katyayani, 7.Kalaratri, 8.Maha Gowri, 9.Siddidaatri. I am trying to mention some of the Nava Durga Temples here.

1. Marcaim

•  It is a small town in West Goa district of Goa State. Nava Durga Temple is here near Marcaim Ground. Sri Bindu Madhav Temple is also near to this temple. Marcaim is 16kms from Margao, 30kms from Vasco d agama and just 6kms from Ponda.

2. Redy - Kanyal

•  These two are the villages at Maharashtra – Goa border in Goa State. Navadurga Temple is here. It was constructed in 10th century. This temple is 50kms from Panjim and 29kms from Siolim.

3. Palwada 

• It is a small town near Karwar in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka State. Gindi Navadurga Temple is here. Mahadeva and Mahamaya Temples are also here. This temple is on Kanasgiri Raod. It is 14kms from Karwar RS and just 5kms from Asnoti RS.

4. Mavinkurva

•  It is a small village near Honavar in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka State. Navadurga Temple is here. This temple is just 5kms from Honavar. Honavar is 20kms from Kumta and 25kms from Murudeswar.

5. Bajegoli 

• It is a small village at Karkala Taluq in Udipi district of Karnataka State. Navadurga Temple is here. Bajegoli is just 10kms from Karkala, 47kms from Udipi and 50kms from Sringeri.

6. Panaji 

• It is the Capital city of Goa State. Navadurga Mandir is on Avenida Teofol Braga road near Police quarters. This temple is just 1.5kms from Panaji Bustand. Panaji is 32kms from Margao and 28kms from Vasco da Gama.

7. Borim 

• It is a small village near Ponda in Goa State. Navadurga Temple is here. Borim is just 6kms away on Margao road and 15kms from Margao.

8. Bangalore

•  It is the Capital city of Karnataka State. Sri Nava Durga Devi Temple is here in Sagayapura. This temple is just 600 mtrs away from Banglore East RS and 8kms from Bengalor Central RS.

9. Keshod 

• It is a municipal town in Junagadh District. Nav Durga Temple is here in Pipaliya Nagar just beside the Police Station. This temple is just below 1km from Keshod RS. Keshod is 38kms from Junagadh and 50kms from Somanath.

10. Kodyadka 

• It is a pilgrim centre near Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka State. Sri Navadurga Temple is here. Sri Devi Annapurneswari Temple is also here. Kodyadka is just 6kms from Moodabidri and 42kms from Mangalore city.

11. Deoghar

• It is a district headquarter city of  Jarkhand State. Navadurga mandir is here  Bompas town. This temple is just 2kms away from Baijyanadham Rs.

12. Villupuram

•  It is a district headquarter city in Tamilnadu State. Navadurga Temple is here on epond road (Salai Agraharam). This temple is beside the highway. It is just 2.5kms from Villupuram Rs and 5kms from Villupuram Bus Stand. Villupuram is 160kms from Chennai.

13. Ujjain 

• It is the distrtict head quarter city in Madhya Pradesh. Ma Navadurga Mandir is here near Ram Mandir centre. This Mandir is just 500mtrs from Mahakaleswar Temple. 

13. Varanasi 

• It is a district head quarter in Uttar Pradesh State. Navadurga Manokamna Siddhi Mandir is at Nawapura near Kotwal. This temple is just one kilo meter away from Kalbhairav Mandir.
